About Luke

Luke has over 20 years of expertise in developing and implementing of genetic and computational methods in practical fish breeding programmes for the benefit of fish farmers, processors and consumers. Currently, Luke focuses on developing genomic selection to improve disease resistance in farmed rainbow trout and European whitefish Coregonus lavaretus.

The pathogens against which host resistance is of interest include Flavobacterium and Saprolegnia fungus. Other health traits studied are skeletal malformations, parasite resistance and survival under multiple production conditions.
